Fujitsu ‘Cool’ Driver Program

The ‘Cool’ driver program commenced this year when Fujitsu expanded on its already comprehensive motorsport sponsorship presence with a staircase progression path covering Karting and Formula Ford.

Over 370 of Australia’s finest young drivers applied to be part of this exciting, new initiative - where drivers will receive financial and career support from Fujitsu General (Aust.) Pty Limited and Velocity Management Group - with the average age of the entire squad coming in at just sixteen years.

Seven (7) positions for Karters were offered; with one (1) driver from each State of Australia making up the Karting component of the Fujitsu ‘Cool’ Driver Program.

Four (4) positions for National Formula Ford competitors were also on offer for drivers con
testing the entire 2011 Australian Formula Ford Championship.
Inclusion in each of the two elements (Karting and Formula Ford) is for the duration of 2011 before an end of year review will be conducted prior to the 2012 racing season.

The successful candidates receive lucrative ‘Cool’ Driver contracts to assist with their career development plans.  In addition to a bonus payment scheme for winning results in major races and titles the best performing Karter will receive an opportunity to test with a National Formula Ford team, while the Formula Ford drivers will be competing for a V8 Supercar test with the Fujitsu sponsored Garry Rogers Motorsport operation.
