If you’re considering a renovation, you may be asking yourself whether it is worth keeping the existing air conditioner to help manage the budget. Before you decide, consider the benefits of upgrading your current wall mounted system or even investing in a whole home comfort solution.

If a new system is on your renovation wish list, the interactive Fujitsu Assist Tool can help you identify the most suitable air conditioner for your individual needs. We then connect you with your closest Fujitsu Authorised Partner to get a quote and organise a heat load assessment to ensure the correct system is selected.

Regardless of whether you’re refreshing the home with a new paint job, adding a room, or going up a level, following are several important tips to keep in mind when renovating.

  • Only trained and licensed refrigeration technicians can remove or relocate an existing air conditioner to another room or reposition the outdoor unit.
  • Before a licensed refrigeration technician repositions an outdoor unit, check the regulations about placement and noise with your local council as there will be guidelines you need to adhere to.
  • If you are reusing the existing unit in another room, make sure the capacity of the system is suitable for the new space. For homes that already have a multi system installed, it may be possible to add more indoor units if there is capacity. Our team at Fujitsu General Assist can help you understand capacity and multi systems to help you find a suitable solution.
  • If you’re wanting to utilise more smart technology throughout the home, it’s a good time to consider the Wi-Fi options available. The Fujitsu General anywAiR® technology options include a Wi-Fi device for units up to 10 years old, a Wi-Fi plug in adaptor for the Lifestyle wall mounted air conditioning range, and the anywAiR technology ducted controller for a range of ducted systems.
  • If the casing of your existing indoor unit has faded, or is looking more yellow than white, a new casing can be ordered by calling Fujitsu General Assist. You should never paint or spray paint the casing (even if online research says you can).
